The most recent accomplishment was in 2009 opening up for Murs at the House of Blues in Anaheim. There is only one word to describe the vibe and that is “ Authentic”. There is many attributes that the LP, showing the groups potential.
With songs like “ Someday” giving the mentally weak a reason to continue, and strive for better is the group’s main purpose. 1 LP gives the listener a true universal experience introducing conscious concepts and content that warms the soul. With such wordplay and slick metaphors the song makes you do exactly what the title orders. The groups first song “Turn it louder” explores the connection between the culture and the heart. With years of performing and recording the group has put out their first LP called “ The Re-session Volume 1.” It consist of plenty interaction with the listener, with melodies making it such a breathe of fresh air. Although the individuals in the group come from different environments they share in common their passion for Hip-Hop. There manifesto is making “Underground the New Mainstream.” With giving much respect to those pioneers before them, The Brothers Next Door continues to reiterate the importance of Hip-Hop culture, speaking on positive yet realistic issues in the music. The group’s responsibility is to revive what seems to be dead to many, which is the overly commercialized sounds of Hip-Hop music. They took interest and invited Classiq to be apart of the group. The trio was formed in 2005, when Lykewise and Equal had heard Classiq’s lyrical delivery one day in a comedic battle at then workplace 24 hour fitness in Garden Grove. The group consists of multi-talented individuals: Sylvester “Equal” Jefferson, Daniel “Lykewise” Nevarez and Thomas “ClassiQ” Smith. Its only fair to say that its only temporary. Although Life can get to you and bring you to a state of mind that causes the "BIG D" depression that is. 2010 Everyone and I mean everyone should focus being better, and enjoying what it is you have versus what you don't. Even though most were there to see Murs but the way they showed love to us, you would of thought that they were there for us only !!!. My highlight was being at the house of blues in Anaheim ( Acity to those who know ) opening up for "Murs" Oh yeah that was our moment of shine where we just felt so embraced and loved by the fans.
We learned a lot about dedication, time managing, talented people who are scared of what they have ,and of course ourselves as a group. Well for us it was a progressing and humbling. 2009 was a good year for a few and bad for many. It seems most of the energy I've been getting from people is that " CHANGE" is way overdue in their lives in which I really agree.
